The Classic Cosmopolitan is a perfectly balanced cocktail featuring vodka, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, and Cointreau. This iconic pink martini is tart, refreshing, and sophisticated—ready in just 5 minutes for your next party or special occasion.

- 1½ oz (45 ml) vodka
- 1 oz (30 ml) cranberry juice
- ½ oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice
- ½ oz (15 ml) Cointreau or triple sec
- Ice cubes
- Lime twist or lemon twist, for garnish
Instructions
- Chill a martini glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before making the cocktail.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Add the vodka, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, and Cointreau to the shaker.
- Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker feels ice-cold to the touch.
- Strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass using a cocktail strainer.
- Express the oils from a lime or lemon twist over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a firm twist, then drop it into the glass or hang it on the rim as garnish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Always use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor. Bottled lime juice will not give the same bright, fresh taste.
- For a less sweet version, use 100% cranberry juice instead of cranberry juice cocktail.
- Cointreau produces a more refined cocktail than generic triple sec, but either works well.
- For a smoother texture, double strain through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any ice chips or pulp.
